Additional Government Supports 11 January 2022

RMcH states:The additional Government supports announced before Christmas are as follows

(1)  CRSS

• CRSS will now be available to businesses that are open to 8pm and also to pubs that feel they have to close if it is not viable to trade the restricted hours
• Turnover must be less than 40% of average weekly 2019 levels to qualify
• payable at the same rates as the previous CRSS scheme (10% of average weekly 2019 turnover to €20,000, 5% thereafter to a max payment of €5,000/week)
• Revenue will look for additional information to back up these new claims before approving them. We suggest preparing some correspondence with the revenue to show exactly how the new restrictions affect you business this seems to be done on a case by case basis.

(2)   Changes to EWSS

• EWSS will be amended to allow businesses that had previously de-registered to re-enter EWSS from 1 January next
• to qualify, businesses must anticipate that their combined turnover Dec 21 and Jan 22 is down at least 30% compared to Dec 19 and Jan 20
• the full EWSS rates are available to 31 Jan 2022, and is scheduled to be tapered after that

(3)  Extensions to Tax Warehousing

• extended by a further three months to Apr 2022

(4)   Note that a commercial rates waiver to 31 March 2022 was previously announced.
